Letter from John Hospers to Libertarian Party member
The entire lettter is interesting, I will include some excerpts here, but then provide a link to the whole letter for you to read. One thing he mentioned that I didn’t entirely agree with was the section where he mentions the Dem Party is full of anti-Semites, but the rest that followed, including the part about colleges rings true.
“The Democrat Party today is a haven for anti-Semites and various racists who despise the Constitution and care nothing for private property. It is opposed to free speech – witness the mania for political correctness on college campuses, and Kerry’s threat to sue television stations that carry the Swift Boat ads. It will use any possible means to suppress opposing viewpoints, particularly on talk radio and the Internet, and will enact “hate speech” laws and reinstitute the “fairness doctrine” and lawsuits designed to suppress freedom of speech. It has no truck with the rule of law except as a weapon to use against opponents.”
Hospers goes on - again I’ll let you read for yourselves - and then he says:….

Gripes My Monkey Blog info
Well, some spammers have seen fit to hit my blog with their crap. I had one entry that had 34 comments - all of them were spam! AUGH! So - as a result - I had to clear out over 300 comments - and close commenting on all entries over a certain age. This took me a couple of hours or so. I have yet to decide how to handle this. One option is to close comments all together - another is to close comments (and clean up) all comments on entries past a couple of weeks old - another is to have comments by permission only (meaning you’d have to “register” to get a login in order to publish comments. For you regulars - how would you feel about the login option?
In other news - I have finally figured out how to add links to the the Links section on the left sidebar. Yay! I have put the links to Andrew’s site, my Megas backgrounds, and my music there so they are always available.
That’s all for now - and let me know your vote for future posting privileges.

Links i found this morning
Here’s a group of links I found this morning while wandering around.
A judge in England finally expresses a clue in the case of a farmer who defended himself. UPDATE: Access to this seems off and on - I must have sent too much traffic there! LOL!
Americans burn U.N. flag. Too bad it wasn’t at the U.N. in New York - now that would have been a mega-statement! Still these guys are expressing what many feel.
Hope this isn’t another sniper - still, KUDOS to the lady driver for her skill.
In the science arena, travel by cosmic blasts? - warp drives? - who knows what we’ll learn - I’m just glad to see NASA scientists working on something again.
And, of course, a few political ones: Kerry accused of plagarism, Kerry accused of treason (essentially), and an editorial of why one man is voting for Bush.
Well, that’s my findings for this morning - be sure to see my prior post with links to my EP!

My first EP is up for free download!
Somewhere Warm is available for download! A couple of these I just was tinkering with and a couple I worked on for a bit. I love tinkering with Garage Band - it ROCKS! Thanks and enjoy!
As for Club of Zanon - yes, I am planning on extending it. Any good techno song is supposed to be - what? - say 20 minutes long?
LOL!

“Say, Cook, where are the chickens?”
So, the Royal Navy is recognizing Satanism. My monkey isn’t sure about griping - but knows he’s confused. (More info on Satanism here.) I’d be realllll leary of this guy if I were his shipmates. In fact, he’d better watch himself after all this publicity, or they may practice another old English ritual of burning someone at the stake. (I know, I know - it’s the navy, but it’s the ROYAL navy….they’ll find a way.)

In the “I Can’t Believe John Said That” Department…..
So, my friend Debbie comes over. She’s a Mary Kay consultant and was here to do sort of a facial spa thing. Now, Debbie is one of John’s favorite people. As soon as she walked in the door, he was there giving her a hug and chatting her ear off. Finally, I hear this exchange:
“Hey, Debbie?”
“Yeah, John?”
“I’m a boy; I have a penis.”
“Yeah. That’s true.” She gives me a smirk of amusement.
“You’re a girl. You don’t have a penis. You just have a butt.”
Now, Debbie’s good a masking things, but if she had been drinking anything, it would have sprayed across the room at that -uh- observation.
“Um, something like that,” she answers.
I should make it clear that Debbie was in no way offended - taken off-guard perhaps - but not offended. Then he made her laugh by saying: “Can I see you butt?” She laughed. “I don’t think so.” *sigh** What a lady charmer.

Man, I slept like John Kerry last night….
I flipped and flopped and flipped and flopped - first I was on one side, then the other; and I did decided to sleep on my stomach, before I decided not to. LOL! ^_^

Interesting site….
This place tracks polls and the Electoral Count and such.
UPDATE: Supposedly Channel One - which is a “cable” channel for the high schools around the country - has been 100% accurate on the last two elections.

The can of worms is opening….
Alaska has a measure on the ballot that will make a particular area of law very interesting for awhile. And it’s not just that this is taking place in Alaska - it’s that it will coincide with another interesting case (No. 03-1454) at the Supreme Court. From the Supreme Court website:
“03-1454 ASHCROFT, ET AL. V. RAICH, ET AL. QUESTION PRESENTED Whether the Controlled Substances Act, 21 U.S.C. 801 et seq., exceeds Congress’s power under the Commerce Clause as applied to the intrastate cultivation and possession of marijuana for purported personal “medicinal” use or to the distribution of marijuana without charge for such use. Certiorari Granted 6/28/04″
This will - no matter what some other editorials want to tell you - affect marijuana law –everywhere– I think many people (and thus states) have been leary of passing or relaxing any laws in favor of light marijuana use because of the larger federal issue. If this case goes in favor of those opposing Ashcroft and crew, many other states could follow. I am aware that it will mean that it will be taxed - and heavily you can bet - like alcohol and cigarettes. Still, there might be other benefits - medical, for starters, and reducing the number of people heavily prosecuted for a joint, while heavy users of heavier drugs walk on probation because there’s suddenly no room. Um - okay - I’m not sure where to go with this….
Read this story. Now - I’m not sure how to respond to that. I mean - look at all the other holidays. Some Christians are offended by Santa and the Easter Bunny, but I haven’t noticed any schools saying we should avoid those because they are offensive to the religion the holidays are based on. Most Wiccans I have run into are pretty tolerant of the whole witch thing on Halloween - and instead focus their energies on educating people about Wicca , etc. The other thing is that kids know witches as they are portrayed aren’t real. It’s just more unfettered PC-ism. Comtemplate - comment - discuss.

Question for the Day
Do you think the government and media should have allowed this story to be leaked? On the one hand, none of her e-mail aliases were leaked, so it’s not like those will have to be abandoned and those communicating with that address now know. On the other, it does let “them” know that some people they’re talking to might not be who they say they are - and might make “them” more guarded about passing along info. What do you all say?

My Physical Torture -er- Therapy….
So, my PT’s name is Kathy - it should be Helga. LOL! Yesterday she was doing a knee deep tissue massage. Every time she’d roll her thumbs up over my kneecap, it -*HURT*- So I tell her:
“You’re doing that on purpose.”
She laughs. “Yes, but not to hurt you - it’s part of the massage. You’ll see; it will help.” She then proceeded to do it again - a bit harder.
“Ow! I’m writing about you in my blog!”
“Oh? What will you say?”
“I’m going to tell every….wait - are you finished?”
“Nope.”
“Then never mind.” We - and the people next to us - laughed.
She then proceeded to tell me to lift my foot off the table using a certain set of muscles. I looked at her like she was nuts. She she decided to “help” OWOW! My leg was not ready for that exercise. She said she was sorry, but still. So then it’s time to be attached to a machine for 15 minutes and have the ice treatment. Brrrrr - my leg was pretty pink. I do feel better though…I just can’t wait to get to the “you can walk on it now” part. Well, that’s the update on the knee.

And now - the Knee Report….
Went to the doctor yesterday about my knee. Turns out the pains & aches are muscles or ligaments NOT the bone or meniscus. Yay! I mentioned wanting to know about surgery, so we could be prepared. He said, “Surgery? Which surgery is this? I wasn’t planning on any surgery here.” (beaming smile) Since this is just recovering soft tissue - my physical therapy is my path to walking without crutches. So, PT starts next week - and I’m able to go around the house, and sleep, and “shower” without my brace. Yay again! Sooooo-
It seems as though how soon I’m walking, driving, etc. is dependent on how well PT goes. Therefore, Andrew will be standing over me like a slaveship foreman to make sure I do my at-home exercises and behave myself.

Famous people from my hometown — or Kevin Bacon and me!!
Justin Root, Michael Rosenbaum, and Kent Estep all went to my high school in a a small Indiana town. Of the three, I actually knew/know Kent - he’s older than me. Now, Michael would have been at my school while I was there - he would have been a freshman or sophomore when I was a senior. I’ve been trying to rack my brain to see if I can remember him….but the pictures don’t jar any memories. He said his first show was Grease - which was produced after I graduated and went to college (forget that we tried for 4 years to do Grease and didn’t get to - but at least Castle finally got to do it, even if it wasn’t with us (sniff))
What cracks me up is this: I have actually found a link between Kevin Bacon and me!! I went to school with Kent - who worked on the movie with Keanu Reeves - who starred in the 2000 Blockbuster Entertainment Awards with Kevin Bacon!! EEK!

Look out for the tumbleweeds!
What’s going on out there? No one’s commenting much - partly due to the fact that one of our main commenters is on a computer-free vacation. How a person could handle that - I don’t know. ( ^_^ ) Things here are still a bit crazy…with the kids, the house, the errands, the appointments, and AJ doing it all along with his job. I am going to the doctor tomorrow to get some more info out of him regarding my knee - possible surgery - and a timeline. Wish me luck.

I like the way Harry Browne uses this phrase. I just wish more people could see it this way.
