Went to see Iron Man on Saturday after flying in from Indiana (and my brother’s graduation for his 2nd masters degree.)

I thought it was pretty good, myself; Robert Downey, Jr. was perfect in the role, and the changes were minimal (Pepper Potts was a lot more “in” on the goings-on of Tony Stark as Iron Man, for instance.) Still, quite entertaining.

As the film deals with war, weapons manufacture and other like topics I was wondering when people would denounce it because it doesn’t immediately echo their particular political prejudices.

I didn’t have to wait long.

Come on, people! It’s a film about a comic book super hero, not a statement. Get a life.

... about not posting, but I really don’t. I’ve been too busy.

Since the last posting I’ve:

1. Had a surprise 40th birthday party with unexpected guests
2. Dived back into Linux to, once again, learn the guts of how it works
3. Started working in earnest with Mac OS X development
4. Gone to New Zealand for two weeks

The lack of posts here can be explained by a few events:

1. I had the hard drive on my laptop upgraded. As I did not have the forethought to move all of my bookmarks to the temporary machine…
2. Pam has not felt 100%, and I’m trying to be as helpful as I can.
3. The engineering project I’m working on is wrapping up and the last 10% is 90% of the effort.
4. I’ve been lazy.

However, the other reason why I’ve not posted a lot here has been my increased usage of my Twitter account – located here.

As a lot of the things I wish to say aren’t exactly “post worthy” I post them to Twitter. At some point I’ll upgrade the Word Press install so that I can include my Twitter postings in a side bar… but that won’t be today.

Rather than actually making this a friendlier port for foreign visitors we’ve decided to have them view a friendly Disney video prior to their strip search, imprisonment and potential involuntary vacation in Cuba or other points abroad.

Also, although the damage was severe we managed to survive the 5.6 San Jose earthquake.
