Various computer post thingies, 2/7/06 edition

We use mod_rewrite here at alienminds – this is an integral part of our setup, actually. I hope that admission doesn’t cause me any problems in the future…

This is a beginners guide to mod_rewrite – useful if you plan on doing anything vaguely complicated on an Apache HTTP server.

As PHP is my latest language of choice you’ll be seeing a lot of PHP links.

Here is one of them: The PHP Resource Index, a rather comprehensive list of applications, functions, docs, etc. Well worth looking into if you are into PHP programming. The only caveat is that there doesn’t appear to be a great deal of PHP 5 info; a lot of it seems to be PHP 3 and PHP 4.

Along those lines is PHPbuilder, another good site for tutorials and there are a fair number of them on PHP 5. And, what the heck! Let’s throw in PHP Editor Review.

And, while on the subject (and near and dear to my heart), we have a page that discusses the fine (and necessary) art of trying to stop XSS attacks (Cross site scripting) from occuring while using PHP 5. You can check it out here.

That’s it for this one. Maybe the next one will be coherent.
