Yay Sony!
Yes, you read that correctly.
Normally I’m down on Sony – mostly due to their customer service (or lack thereof) and their attempts to lock down the media I have legally purchased in ways that I don’t appreciate.
However, we’ve had these DVD’s that came on DVD+R media – not DVD-R – and could not be read by our Panasonic DVD player.
Well, I was going to transcode them, shrink the data and re-encode on a DVD-R when I decided (on a whim) to throw the DVD+R media into our Sony PlayStation 2… and it worked! No one can accuse Sony of skimping in the PS2 specs.
So, tonight my family and I get to watch The Show That Shall Not Be Named. Thank you, Sony!
And, thank you Bruce.
