Had a job interview on Monday.

It went well, I think. I managed to prove to them (and to myself) that, yes, I can still code in C and I can do it pretty damn well.

This was a contract job, and the pay was nice for a programming position. Sadly, the commute was way too long – I’d be driving for 3 – 4 hours per day. Even in a best case scenario I would be looking at driving a total of 12 24-hour days over the course of the 6 month contract. With profuse apologies I had to back out of that one.

But, life has a way of coming around and I had a phone interview that went well – so well that tomorrow I have a face-to-face interview. I’m rather jazzed as this position sounds as though it was made for me. If it is what it appears to be then I intend to own this job as of tomorrow.

Other than that not much going on. We grilled some steaks and had baked potatoes for supper and it was quite good. Mmmm… red meat…
