This is a HUGE collection of links I’ve been collecting… I don’t know why. But, since I’m in the process of cleaning off my hard drive I had to have somewhere to put them. So here you go.

Clean up and optimize your XP system. – this really works, but it helps if you don’t have a PCI card that is going insane, too.

BoingBoing: The hidden rooms of the Winchester Mystery House. – I’m a big fan of the WMS, I always recommend seeing it. This was a fascinating look at some of the stuff we don’t get to see as tourists.

Old British military fortifications – the Maunsell Towers were built as anti-aircraft fortifications at the end of WWII, and are completely artificial. Most of it is still standing; I’d love to go see these.

It’s the historic Scott Opera House of FAIRMOUNT INDIANA. – Hey, I grew up there and I didn’t know about this. How did that happen?

Viral Videos – just what we need in the age of Bird Flu

PKD - How to build a universe that doesn’t fall apart two days later – For all of you writers out there, an essay from Philip K. Dick

Random LiveJournal Images – warning, very likely Not Safe For Work

It’s a trap!

Speaking of traps, here is a document on how to turn down the request by police that you submit to a search.

Monkey Cam! – It doesn’t get better than a free Monkey Cam on the Internet

Hey, I forgot this one in yesterday’s Episode III post – Yes, Cliff found it first. But I claim it.

Plastic furniture I would not mind owning

Boiled AliveWARNING: Not Safe For Work, more than a little ‘culturally insensitive’. Ah, I’ve wandered into another one of those dark little corners of the internet. I had no idea this was even an area of interest – I wonder why all of the women are topless in almost every illustration?

Smash that baby! – yes, previously discussed.

Encyclopedia of the Obscure – very cool, and includes an entry for a movie I simply must find.

As a European Space Agency has launched a new Venus probe (due to arrive in 5 months), here is some coverage of the original Soviet Venus probes.

Books they don’t want you to read. – or, probably, Uncle Fester to publish.

Always end on a high note – Sleazy Science Fiction book covers of the past.
